4. Lubricating oil should be maintained and replaced regularly. When a newly installed reducer is first used, it must be replaced with new oil after 10 to half months of operation. After that, the quality of the oil should be checked regularly (2-3 months). If it is found that it does not meet the requirements, it should be replaced immediately. Generally, the oil should be changed at least once every six months.

 

What are the reasons for crevice corrosion and shedding of reducer gears?

a. Materials, strength and shortcomings. The material of the gear does not meet the requirements; the key factor affecting the contact fatigue limit of the gear is the low strength after heat treatment, which cannot ensure the required contact fatigue limit of the gear. In addition, defects on the tooth surface or inside are also one of the reasons for insufficient contact fatigue limit.

 

b. Gear accuracy is weak. The gear processing and installation accuracy does not meet the requirements, such as poor gearing accuracy and poor movement accuracy. There are also cases where the center distance determination error of the housing of arc gears is very large.

 

c. The lubricating oil does not meet the regulations. The type of lubricating oil used is wrong. The viscosity of the finished oil is low and the lubrication properties are weak.

 

d. The oil volume is too high. If the amount of oil is too high, the temperature of the oil will be high, which will reduce the viscosity of the lubricating oil, destroy the lubrication properties, and reduce the working thickness of the floating oil.
